Day 4: How I Got Interested In Watch Collecting
I wouldn't call myself an expert in horology (watch collecting).However, I have spent the past year reading and learning about watches. And I have probably spent a good 40 hours learning about the hobby.Here's how I first got interested in watch collecting:To me, a watch is a little piece of many things I love (art, design, culture, and tech) that you wear on your wrist. As I shared in yesterday's post, YouTube really led me down the horology rabbit hole. An off-hand reference to Kevin O'Leary's YouTube channel on watch collecting by my instructor in a YouTube marketing course opened the door to a new passion.So my goal over the next year is:...to educate myself on the components of automatic and mechanical watch movements and their respective function.
