Have you ever played tennis, then played something with a shorter racket for awhile, like pickleball, then played tennis again? What happens is your swing becomes shortened. You miss shots you could once hit because you're using a shorter racket and covering a smaller court. This is what has happened to me with my online writing. With the rise of Twitter/X , I think became too comfortable writing 240-character tweets and Instagram captions.
So, I recently signed up for Dickie Bush & Nicolas Cole's cohort-based course, Ship 30 for 30, to increase my online writing skills.
Here are 3 skills I want to grow:
Building personal brand
I'm launching a digital marketing agency. In order to build a following and build trust, I need to build my personal brand online. This requires showing up online daily, being transparent, and demonstrating authority.
Online writing
As Dickie and Nicolas say, online writing isn't like writing a book. There is a structure, rhythm, and intentionality to online writing, and that's what I am here to develop.
Daily writing habit
A daily writing habit or ritual, will help me priorirtize my writing time, block out distractions, and get into the rhythm of online writing I talked about in point 2.
Over the next 30 days, I plan on writing about , and repurposing content for my target audience, watch review YouTubers.
Join me on this adventure—and let me know if you have any questions along the way!
I'm excited to start sharing what I know online.
